Ensuring safe site management:
This month, we would like to congratulate our director Dave Walker upon completing his five day SMSTS course and passing with flying colours. In today’s construction environment, safety is paramount. The SMSTS course ensures that those in leadership roles are fully equipped to identify and mitigate risks on-site, ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. For a company like ours, having a leader with SMSTS certification is invaluable. It reinforces our commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism in every project we undertake.
Risk Assessments
Here at Home Valley before commencing any works we ensure that indepth risk assessments are carried out which are broken down in to three clear steps:
- Identification: Regularly identify potential hazards on-site.
- Evaluation: Assess the risks associated with these hazards.
- Mitigation: Implement control measures to minimize risks.
Safety Training
- Induction Programs: Provide comprehensive safety induction training for all workers before they start work on-site.
- Ongoing Education: Regularly update workers with safety training, including specialised courses for high-risk activities (e.g., working at heights, handling hazardous materials).
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
